System overview
A two-pack self-levelling epoxy resin poured at 2–4 mm to produce a seamless, mirror-flat finish over prepared concrete. The system is trowel-applied and self-smooths under its own weight, producing a monolithic surface with no joints, grout lines or seams.
Best deployed in dry commercial and light-industrial environments where cleanability, appearance and even light reflection matter — retail, offices, dry production, storage and back-of-house.
2–4 mm typical (3 mm nominal). Priming plus body coat plus optional protective top coat.
Excellent resistance to oils, greases, mild acids, detergents and most cleaning chemicals. Moderate resistance to solvents, dilute acids and alkalis. Not recommended for concentrated acid, ketone or aggressive solvent exposure — specify a vinyl-ester or novolac system for those.

- Wet-process or wash-down zones (specify PU or quartz broadcast instead)

Installation process
- Step 01
Site survey and moisture test
We attend site, check slab moisture to BS 8203 / BS 8204, assess existing coatings and confirm loading. Specification is written against your actual substrate — never a template.
- Step 02
Mechanical preparation
Diamond grinding or captive-shot blasting to CSP 3–4 to open the substrate profile. All dust is HEPA-vacuumed at source; the site is left dry and dust-tight.
- Step 03
Repairs and priming
Cracks, blowholes and joints are resin-repaired. A penetrating epoxy primer is rolled to bind the substrate and prevent pinholing.
- Step 04
Self-smoothing body coat
The pigmented epoxy body coat is trowel-applied at 2–4 mm and back-rolled with a spiked roller to release air. The material self-levels to a mirror-flat finish.
- Step 05
Optional protective top coat
A clear polyurethane top coat is applied for improved UV stability, chemical protection or slip resistance. Aggregate is broadcast if a textured finish is specified.
- Step 06
Cure, inspection and handover
System is left to cure. We inspect, snag, hand over the O&M pack, care card and workmanship guarantee.

Maintenance guidance
- Daily: dust mop or auto-scrub with pH-neutral cleaner
- Weekly: rotary scrub in high-traffic lanes
- Avoid strong solvents, undiluted bleach and abrasive pads
- Refresh top coat every 8–12 years to renew appearance

Frequently asked questions
15–20 years in a normal commercial environment with correct specification and routine cleaning. Traffic lanes may need a top-coat refresh at year 8–10.
No. Tiles and vinyl are removed and the concrete is mechanically prepared before priming. We do not overlay resin onto flexible substrates.
Solid rubber tyres can leave shadows on smooth epoxy. If MHE is used regularly, we recommend a heavy-duty industrial or PU top coat.
Smooth gloss (R9) becomes slippery when wet — we broadcast aggregate to R11–R12 in any wet zone or ramp.
Yes. UFH is commissioned and cycled before installation. We install with an appropriate build-up and thermal-compatibility primer.
Standard epoxy will yellow over years under direct UV. For UV-exposed areas we specify a clear aliphatic PU top coat for colour stability.
