Food and beverage floors have to pass audit as well as survive daily operation. Our food-grade PU systems are HACCP-friendly, thermal-shock resistant to 120°C, coved into walls to remove dirt traps, and specified to the standards used in dairies, breweries, bakeries and meat processing.

Food-grade flooring has to survive daily wash-down, thermal shock from steam cleaning, aggressive detergents and, most importantly, an EHO or BRC audit. Standard epoxy will not do the job — a food and beverage floor needs a heavy-duty polyurethane screed with coved upstands, laid to falls where drainage requires.

Our installation process
Every food grade resin flooring project follows the same disciplined sequence. Skipping steps is where floors fail — we don't skip.
- Step 01
Audit-standard survey
We survey to your audit standard — BRC, SALSA, HACCP — and log drainage, thermal exposure and cleaning chemistry.
- Step 02
Preparation
Substrate lifted back to sound concrete, drains reformed if needed. Diamond grinding or captive shot blast to CSP 4–5.
- Step 03
Cove installation
Integral resin cove upstands formed to 100–150 mm — no separate skirting, no dirt trap.
- Step 04
Body screed
6–9 mm PU screed laid to falls where drainage requires. Fully bonded, monolithic build.
- Step 05
Broadcast and seal
Aggregate broadcast for slip resistance, sealed with an aliphatic PU top coat.
- Step 06
Drainage detail
Channel and gully upstands sealed into the screed — no failure point at the drain interface.
- Step 07
Audit sign-off
Handover pack includes specification, materials data sheets and cleaning schedule for your auditor.
Where it works, where it doesn't
We're honest about specification. A system installed in the wrong environment will fail no matter how well it's laid.

Durability and lifespan
A correctly laid PU food floor regularly delivers 15–20 years of service. Where they fail early it is almost always cove or drain detail — both areas we specify and install to a defined standard.
The system is unaffected by thermal shock up to 120°C and by the vast majority of food-industry cleaning chemistry.
Curing times
Cure schedule at 20°C. Colder conditions extend times; heated cures accelerate them.

Maintenance and aftercare
Daily squeegee and end-of-shift wash-down. Weekly deep-clean with a PU-safe degreaser at the concentration on the data sheet.
Do not use bleach neat on cove upstands. Book an annual professional slip-rating re-test if your audit standard requires it.

Colour, finish and customisation
PU is available in a range of RAL colours — beige, grey, green and terracotta are the most specified. Zone colour-coding for allergen control is common in bakeries and food production.
Cove height is specified to 100 or 150 mm depending on wash-down regime.

Yes — our PU systems are audit-ready. Handover pack includes the specification and data sheets your auditor needs.
How hot can we steam-clean?+
Systems tolerate steam cleaning at 120°C without softening or delaminating.
How long does installation take?+
3–7 days depending on area, drainage and coving detail. The zone must be offline throughout.
Will it lift at the drain?+
Not if the drain upstand is formed correctly — we seal channel and gully upstands into the screed as one monolithic build.
What colours are available?+
Standard PU colours include grey, beige, green, terracotta and blue. RAL matching available on larger jobs.
