Built for the way you actually use the space.
Gym floors take dropped weights, cardio equipment, sweat and daily cleaning. Our systems combine impact-resistant resin build-ups with slip-rated top coats, brand colours and zoning — from free-weight areas to changing rooms and wet zones.
Resin flooring for commercial gyms, studios, changing rooms and leisure centres.
Gym floors take a specific beating that most commercial floors don't. Dropped free weights, dragged racking, cardio equipment vibration, sweat, chalk, and daily disinfection. A domestic epoxy will not survive it. Our gym systems are specified around the equipment schedule and the way the space is actually used — free-weight platforms, functional zones, cardio, changing rooms and wet areas each get their own build-up.
We install resin flooring for commercial gyms, boutique studios, functional training spaces, leisure centres and hotel spas across the West Midlands. Every project balances impact absorption, slip resistance, cleanability and brand aesthetics.
Key benefits
- Impact-resistant build-up under free-weight zones
- R11 to R13 slip ratings for wet and changing areas
- Brand-matched colours and zoning
- Seamless, joint-free and hygienic
- Sweat and disinfectant resistant top coats
- Installed around opening hours
Our installation process
Every gym & leisure flooring project follows the same disciplined sequence. Skipping steps is where floors fail — we don't skip.
- Step 01
Equipment survey
We walk the space with your fit-out team, map free-weight and functional zones, log wet areas and confirm equipment loadings.
- Step 02
Preparation
Diamond grinding with HEPA extraction to CSP 3–4 profile.
- Step 03
Priming and repair
Cracks and joints cut and re-mortared, moisture-tolerant primer applied.
- Step 04
Body coats
Self-smoothing epoxy across cardio and pedestrian zones; heavier build with impact-absorbing aggregate under free-weight platforms.
- Step 05
Zoning and demarcation
Colour zoning, lifting platform markers and directional lines laid into the wet build.
- Step 06
Slip-rated top coat
PU top coat calibrated to R11 in wet zones, R10 satin on the main floor.
- Step 07
Handover
Snag, aftercare and cleaning schedule handed over to facilities.
Where it works, where it doesn't
We're honest about specification. A system installed in the wrong environment will fail no matter how well it's laid.
Suitable for
- Commercial gyms and boutique studios
- Functional training and CrossFit spaces
- Changing rooms and shower blocks
- Hotel and spa wet areas
- Reception and cardio zones
Not suitable for
- Direct free-weight drop zones without rubber overlay (specify rubber platforms)
- Olympic lifting platforms — use dedicated lifting flooring
- Sprung timber floors for dance / studio use
Advantages and trade-offs
Advantages
- Seamless and hygienic — no grout lines for sweat and dirt
- Slip-rated where it matters
- Cleans and disinfects in minutes
- Brand-matched colour and zoning
- 10–15 year service life
Trade-offs
- •Direct weight drops still need rubber protection
- •Full cure needs 5–7 days before heavy equipment moves in
- •Higher up-front cost than rubber tile
Durability and lifespan
A gym resin floor typically delivers 10–15 years of service. Cardio and pedestrian zones wear slowest; free-weight-adjacent areas need most attention.
Sweat and disinfectant tolerance is a function of the top coat — we specify aliphatic PU top coats that don't yellow, don't soften and don't lift under repeated wet cleaning.
Curing times
Cure schedule at 20°C. Colder conditions extend times; heated cures accelerate them.
| Stage | Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Foot traffic | 12–24 hours | Light walking in socks or clean shoes once the top coat has gelled. |
| Furniture return | 48 hours | Light furniture, tools and shelving can be reintroduced. |
| Vehicle traffic | 5–7 days | Hot tyres and heavier point loads once the aliphatic PU top coat has fully cross-linked. |
| Full chemical cure | 7 days | Chemical resistance, wet cleaning and heavy wear reach design spec. |
Maintenance and aftercare
Daily dust-mop across the main floor, weekly scrub with a neutral-pH detergent. Wet zones — showers, changing — need a slip-rated cleaner and squeegee daily.
Book an annual professional deep-clean; re-seal wet zones every 5 years to maintain slip rating.
Aftercare checklist
- Daily dust-mop and spot-clean
- Weekly scrub with neutral-pH detergent
- Daily squeegee in wet zones
- Rubber overlay under free-weight drops
- Annual slip-rating re-test in wet areas
Colour, finish and customisation
Brand colour and zoning matter as much in a gym as in retail — the floor tells members where each zone is without signage.
Free-weight platforms, functional grids and directional lines can be laid into the resin. Slip ratings can be specified per zone.
Available finishes

Gym & Leisure Flooring — frequently asked
Will the floor survive dropped dumbbells?+
Impact-absorbing aggregate helps but direct free-weight drops still need rubber platforms on top. Our systems handle everything else — kettlebells, plates, sled work.
How slip-safe is it when wet?+
In wet zones we specify R11 to R13 aggregate profiles with slip test data on request. Well above minimum HSE guidance for wet areas.
Can you install without closing?+
For most gyms we install across a short closure or phase by zone. Full facilities are typically 3–5 days end-to-end.
Does sweat damage the finish?+
No — our aliphatic PU top coats are unaffected by sweat, chalk or standard gym disinfectants.
Can you brand-match?+
Yes — RAL, Pantone and bespoke colour matching, zoned by area.
