A metallic resin floor is a hand-poured, one-off piece of work. Pearlescent pigments are blended into an epoxy carrier, poured onto the primed substrate and then worked with rollers, air and solvents to build the deep, three-dimensional movement that gives the floor its character. No two metallic floors are ever the same, and that is the point of them.
We install metallic resin floors across the West Midlands in homes, showrooms, garages, retail spaces and hospitality venues. The pour is designed and executed by hand. Colour blends are agreed on physical sample panels first, then mixed on site to match.

Our installation process
Every metallic resin flooring project follows the same disciplined sequence. Skipping steps is where floors fail — we don't skip.
- Step 01
Design and sample panels
We produce sample panels in your chosen pigment blend. Metallic is a genuinely bespoke finish — every blend is one-off, so seeing the actual material is essential before commitment.
- Step 02
Preparation
Diamond grinding with HEPA-vacuumed extraction. Metallic floors require an especially flat, defect-free substrate because the top coat gloss magnifies every imperfection.
- Step 03
Primer and base coat
A penetrating epoxy primer and then a solid-colour base coat in the pigment underneath — typically black, white or a mid-tone chosen to sit under the metallic layer.
- Step 04
Metallic pour
The metallic pigment is blended into clear epoxy and poured onto the base coat while it's still workable. We work the pour with rollers, brushes, air and (carefully) solvents to draw out the movement and depth. This is skilled hand-work and it is what makes each floor unique.
- Step 05
Clear top coat
One or two clear polyurethane top coats are applied to seal the metallic layer, deliver the specified sheen and give the floor its wear resistance. Most metallic floors are finished in high-gloss — but satin and matte are options for interior spaces.

Sign-off
We walk the floor with you, agree the finish and hand over the aftercare pack.
Where it works, where it doesn't
We're honest about specification. A system installed in the wrong environment will fail no matter how well it's laid.

Durability and lifespan
Metallic resin floors have the same underlying durability as any high-build epoxy system — 15–20+ years of service life is normal. The metallic layer is fully sealed under the clear top coat, so wear happens to the sacrificial top coat rather than to the decorative work.
That's important because in 10 years, if the top coat has dulled, we can lightly abrade and re-seal with a fresh clear PU — the metallic underneath is untouched and reappears as-new.
Curing times
Cure schedule at 20°C. Colder conditions extend times; heated cures accelerate them.

Maintenance and aftercare
Maintenance is identical to any high-gloss resin floor: dust-mop or vacuum regularly, damp-mop with a neutral pH detergent. Avoid abrasive pads, alkaline cleaners and neat bleach — they attack the top coat sheen.
For high-gloss metallic floors we recommend a light professional re-seal every 5–7 years to keep the depth and reflection at their best.

Colour, finish and customisation
Metallic is where our design freedom is at its widest. Pigments can be single-tone, dual-tone or multi-tone; movement can be subtle and cloud-like or dramatic and rippled; base coat can be white for a luminous look or black for depth. Every combination is on the table.
For themed spaces we can pull in specific reference colours — copper for industrial-look bars, oyster and pearl for salons, deep navy and silver for showrooms, verdigris and bronze for feature restaurant floors.

Metallic Resin Flooring — frequently asked
Will it look like the sample?+
It will match the character of the sample, with the same colours and the same style of movement, but each pour is unique. That's the nature of a hand-worked finish.
How thick is a metallic floor?+
Total build is typically 2 to 3 mm: a primer, a base coat, the metallic pour and one or two clear top coats.
Can I have it in a residential kitchen?+
Yes. Metallic works particularly well in open-plan living. We usually recommend a satin PU top coat inside a home to hide micro-scratching from everyday use.
Is it slippery?+
Standard gloss and satin PU top coats have a dry slip rating suitable for domestic and light commercial use. Aggregate can be added for wet areas, but it does change the look.
How long does the pour take?+
The pour itself is a one-shot half-day operation once the base coat is down. The full install, from grind to sign-off, runs 4 to 5 days.
