Restaurant & Hospitality Resin Flooring

Seamless resin floors for kitchens, bars and dining spaces.

Overview

Built for the way you actually use the space.

Hospitality floors have two jobs: look the part in front of house and hold up to grease, water and constant cleaning behind the pass. We specify decorative resin systems for dining rooms and bars, and HACCP-friendly PU systems with coved upstands for kitchens and prep areas.

Resin flooring for restaurants, bars, cafés, hotels and hospitality venues — front and back of house.

Hospitality floors do two jobs at once. Front of house has to look designed under intimate lighting and hold up to constant footfall. Back of house has to pass EHO inspection and survive grease, water, hot oil spills and daily deep cleans. We specify both sides of the pass as one integrated project.

We install resin floors for restaurants, bars, cafés, hotels and dark kitchens across Coventry, Birmingham, Solihull and the wider West Midlands. Front of house gets decorative metallic, marble or bespoke colour systems; back of house gets HACCP-friendly PU with coved upstands.

Key benefits

  • Decorative resin systems front of house
  • HACCP-friendly PU kitchens with cove upstands
  • R11–R13 slip ratings in wet and greasy areas
  • Seamless and joint-free — no grout to fail
  • Steam-clean and pressure-wash tolerant behind the pass
  • Installed during closures to protect trading

Our installation process

Every restaurant & hospitality resin flooring project follows the same disciplined sequence. Skipping steps is where floors fail — we don't skip.

  1. Step 01

    Survey and design

Front of house is agreed on sample panels; back of house is specified to HACCP standards with coved upstand details.

  2. Step 02

    Preparation

Diamond grinding with HEPA extraction. Kitchens are lifted back to sound substrate and drainage is checked.

  3. Step 03

    Repairs and priming

Cracks, joints and drains reformed. Moisture-tolerant epoxy primer.

  4. Step 04

    Kitchen build

6–9 mm PU screed with integral cove upstands to 100–150 mm, laid to falls where drainage requires.

  5. Step 05

    Front-of-house build

Decorative metallic, marble or coloured self-smoothing systems laid to design.

  6. Step 06

    Top coats

R11–R13 aggregate in wet zones, satin PU front of house.

  7. Step 07

    Handover

Snag, aftercare and cleaning schedule handed to the operator.

Where it works, where it doesn't

We're honest about specification. A system installed in the wrong environment will fail no matter how well it's laid.

Suitable for

  • Restaurants and dining rooms
  • Bars, cocktail lounges and cafés
  • Commercial kitchens and prep areas
  • Dark kitchens and central production
  • Hotel front of house and F&B

Not suitable for

  • Areas where full drainage cannot be formed in wet kitchens
  • Suspended timber decks without rigid overlay

Advantages and trade-offs

Advantages

  • Front and back specified as one system
  • HACCP-friendly and audit-ready
  • Slip-rated where the risk is
  • Seamless — no grout, no dirt traps
  • Decorative options front of house

Trade-offs

  • Kitchen builds are 3–5 days per zone
  • Requires trading closure or phased night work
  • Higher up-front cost than tile

Durability and lifespan

Front of house typically lasts 10–15 years before a top-coat refresh. Kitchen PU screeds regularly deliver 15–20 years under aggressive daily use.

The difference between a hospitality floor that lasts and one that fails is almost always coved upstand detail and drainage — we do both properly.

Curing times

Cure schedule at 20°C. Colder conditions extend times; heated cures accelerate them.

StageTimeNotes
Foot traffic12–24 hoursLight walking in socks or clean shoes once the top coat has gelled.
Furniture return48 hoursLight furniture, tools and shelving can be reintroduced.
Vehicle traffic5–7 daysHot tyres and heavier point loads once the aliphatic PU top coat has fully cross-linked.
Full chemical cure7 daysChemical resistance, wet cleaning and heavy wear reach design spec.

Maintenance and aftercare

Front of house: dust-mop daily, scrub weekly with a neutral-pH detergent.

Kitchen: squeegee at end of every service; deep-clean weekly with a degreaser rated for PU. Do not use bleach neat on cove upstands.

Aftercare checklist

  • Daily squeegee in wet kitchen zones
  • Weekly PU-safe degreaser deep-clean
  • Walk-off matting at all customer entrances
  • Clean spills of wine, coffee and citrus promptly
  • Annual slip-rating re-test in kitchens

Colour, finish and customisation

Front-of-house design is the fun part — metallic pours, marble veining and bespoke brand colours all work. We build sample panels under your restaurant lighting.

Back-of-house is functional but not ugly — kitchen PU is available in RAL colour, so brand identity can carry through if the operator wants it.

Available finishes

  • Metallic and marble front-of-house pours
  • Coloured self-smoothing dining floors
  • 6–9 mm PU kitchen screeds
  • Integral coved upstands to 150 mm
  • R11–R13 slip ratings

Restaurant & Hospitality Resin Flooring — frequently asked

Can you install without closing us?+

Kitchens need a hard closure — usually 3–5 days per zone. Front of house we can phase overnight.

Is it EHO-compliant?+

Yes — our kitchen PU systems are HACCP-friendly, seamless, coved into the walls and steam-clean tolerant. Suitable for full EHO audit.

How slip-safe is a kitchen floor?+

We specify R11 to R13 aggregate profiles in wet and greasy zones, with slip test data on request.

Will grease damage it?+

No — PU top coats are unaffected by cooking oils, hot fats and standard kitchen degreasers.

Can you tie front and back together?+

Yes — many operators run the same brand colour front and back with different specs above and below the pass.
